An Affordable Closed-Loop Color Solution

Are you still depending solely on a handheld densitometer for print quality control in your pressroom?

Many printers have explored the idea of adding a closed-loop color control system to their older offset presses, only to be discouraged by the perceived high costs. That’s where Techkon offers a game-changing solution. Our closed-loop system is available in the mid-$30,000 range and delivers the same powerful software capabilities found in fully automated systems.

The key difference? This solution uses the reliable SpectroJet, a hand-scanning instrument that offers excellent precision.

The SpectroJet functions similarly to the well-known SpectroDrive but is built around a high-end spectrophotometer renowned for its accuracy. It features 100% LED illumination and complies with ISO 13655 standards, supporting all measurement modes (M0, M1, M2, M3). With a side-mounted aperture, it aligns effortlessly with your press sheet’s color bar, while the precisely engineered wheels ensure smooth and accurate scanning.

Thanks to its manual scanning design, the SpectroJet eliminates the need for complex mechanical components, earning its nickname: “The Scanning Workhorse.” Equipped with a high-precision optical encoder, it accurately tracks scan speed and distance, delivering consistent and dependable performance. It’s an ideal solution for half-size presses—operators can scan a 29-inch sheet in one quick motion and instantly view color data on-screen.

To complete the system, the SpectroJet is integrated with PressLink, Techkon’s renowned closed-loop software—the same used in our higher-end automated systems. Together, they create a reliable, cost-effective closed-loop solution that dramatically boosts efficiency right at the press.
